BISCUIT

Small, light, flaky bread, made from soft dough, that's generally leavened with baking powder or baking soda. Biscuits should be fairly uniform in shape and should double in height during baking. The top crust is crisp-tender and golden brown, with lighter sides. The crumb is creamy white and slightly moist and should peel off in layers.
