Mayonnaise: Where can it be used?

Mayonnaise is a versatile sauce which can be used in various ways.

It can be used as an accompanying sauce for meats, fish, seafood and vegetables. Mayonnaise is the perfect accompaniment for boiled or braised meats or a grilled chicken breast.

It is also a an ideal supplement for fried foods encased in some type of crust, batter or breadcrumbs such as shrimps in a corn meal crust or vegetables in a beer batter.

It can also be used as an ingredient in dressings for simple salads, e.g., a salad with various greens, green apple, walnuts and celery or in a more complex seafood salad.

In simpler versions, mayonnaise is the base for numerous sandwiches and snacks and don’t forget: in Belgium and Holland, it is the classic accompaniment for French fries.
