An Oriental fruit that resembles a large, white grape inside a thin, red, bumpy shell. Its flavor is sweeter and more fragrant than a grape, and the meat is soft and juicy. Litchis have a dark, inedible pit. When litchi fruits are dried, they're called litchi nuts.
