WATERMELON

A large, round, oval or oblong fruit with sweet, crisp, juicy meat. There are more than 50 watermelon varieties grown, and depending on the variety, the rind may be solid dark green, striped or mottled. The meat can be anywhere from deep pink to red, and some varieties have yellow meat. Watermelons usually have flat, dark brown or black seeds, but seedless varieties are rapidly gaining in popularity.
