PASTITSIO

Traditional Greek dish although its name comes from the Italian "pasticcio". Its main ingredients are pasta and mince meat and it is prepared using different layers of ingredients. There are many ways to prepare it but the basic recipe is: thick pasta, beef, pork or lamb mince cooked with tomato, and bechamel. Grated cheese is sprinkled on top and it is cooked in the oven.
