A salad mixture containing shredded raw cabbage combined with a flavorful dressing. Either to a creamy mayonnaise-type mixture or sweet-tart vinaigrette is used for the dressing. Other crisp, colorful ingredients, such as shredded carrot, chopped green or red pepper and sometimes raisins, may be added.
