MUSSEL

A shellfish most commonly enclosed in a bluish black, hinged, oblong shell, measuring 2 to 4 inches in length. The cooked meat ranges in color from orange to tan and is mildly to moderately flavored. They can be wild or farm raised. Mussels are always eaten cooked.
