MARMELADE

Marmalade is prepared from whole or cut fruits, macerated and cooked in sugar. Any fruit can bemused to prepare marmalade, commercially; however, since 1981 the term marmalade has been reserved exclusively for citrus fruits (grapefruits, oranges, lemons). Marmalade is most often used as a spread on bread.
